Balance Partners with Local Youth Services to Raise Awareness and Collect Items

Imagine a child arriving in a foster home with only the clothing on their back. . . . no pajamas, no toothbrush, no change of clothing. It’s a sad reality for children in our world and more close to home, in our community. The good news is, we can help make a difference together!

Balance Massage and Wellness is honored to partner with the Department of Child Services and National Youth Advocate Program to raise awareness and collect items needed for foster children in April, Child Abuse Prevention Month, and May, Foster Care Appreciation Month. Each individual who donates items for foster children will receive a $5 off coupon for services at Balance Massage and Wellness. Cathy Franke, Family Case Manager Supervisor at the Department of Child Services said, “It’s sad, many foster kids enter the system having only the clothes on their backs. We are thrilled Balance Massage and Wellness wants to help.”

If you would like to help make a difference in a child’s life and receive a discount on services at Balance, consider donating items from the list provided.  You can bring socks, underwear, onesies, pajamas, blankets, toothbrushes, combs, other toiletries, diapers, wipes and gently used clothing for newborns to teens to Balance Massage and Wellness located at 1260 Jackson Street. Together we can make a difference by helping children and foster parents in our community.
